ILLUSTRATION
My first art form. Drawings on paper that tell stories. All images here by commission.
Commissions, for me, are a way for my art practice to be of service.
The first three images are for my client’s book of poetry. They show my client sitting, a recreation of one of the first artworks of mine that he say, and a pile of “things left behind” - jewellery, drink, pretty clothes, and so on.
The last image is of an ungainly married woman falling through a hole in her bedroom floor. This illustration was heavily informed by Mervyn Peake’s description of his character Fuschia, the story of Persephone, and by Alice in Wonderland.
